AARGH, things seem to be a bit confusing here. This being the 27th response, one still cannot get a 1.5 inch fork into tapered head tube of 1.25 or 1.125, 44mm is still larger that 1.5, which would work, IF the bike had a 44mm head tube. Some ones seem to not believe that.

I never stated the bike had a 44 mm head tube, and did not bring that into the thread. Confusion is understated and widespread, especially among the perfect. Please stop using your confusion as others confusion. Enjoy your ride today, I surely will.

This bike will not accept a 1.5" steerer, so the suggestion that it might was inappropriate. Start another thread if you want to show off your 'framebuilding knowledge' and be rude.

I don’t shop enough to know but are you saying that a replacement fork that fits your bike is unavailable? From anywhere?
I realize the 1.5-1.125 taper is the most common. It’s the only taper size I knew existed in fact. But there’s lots of funny stuff out there.
If you want to keep your frame, seems like it’s worth it to track down something that fits.
Every 1.125 straight fork in the world should work if you get a 1.25-1.125 bottom cup. Seems like a solid idea.
Custom might be harder than it sounds because even custom makers source readily available parts. If they can’t source a steerer tube, you might be out of luck.

I misused the word “cup”.
Theres definitely drop in bearings available to size down on the steerer tube. Same difference but not a cup. See how being on pedantic misses the whole point?
To the OP. Get a fork that fits and make sure it’s one that you can replace in case this happens again. Getting stranded with abandoned standards sucks for a bike you actually ride.
(yes, one of my bikes has Uniglide, but I hardly ever ride it)
