Which Brake Lever?
I'm upgrading my custom build LHT. I'm switching out the v brakes with some Paul touring cantis, which begs the question, what brake lever should I use? I've narrowed it down some.
-Tektro RL340 - would work for my purposes, but i don't totally love the hood shape. And blah.
-Cane Creek SCR-5 - They feel too blocky to me, and i've seen the hood break on one before.
-Sram S500 - I'm assuming these have the same shape as all other sram hoods. I have only rode sram a few times, but I thought they were kind of blocky. Would these be too fragile during a long tour?
-TRP RRL - I think I like these the most. THey look like campy hoods to me, which is my preferred brand. Again, are these too fragile during a tour?
Any advise would be helpful. There are probably more options also. If you know of any, let me know! Thanks in advance!

Shimano BR400 or BR600. Half the price of the TRPs you mention. Depends on which hood design you prefer most. The TRPs do have campy-style hoods.

Honestly you cant go wrong with the Tekros. I wasn't wild about the shape at first but its acceptable with gloves on. I have toured many a mile on these things and they have held up very well. I have the 400 series on my Fargo and they are comfortable also.

Keeping the price down on my current build was really not the point, but I didn't really find levers with better reviews than the Tektro 340. I also run Paul's, the NRs, I'd spend for some levers that were the equal of the brakes, say 100% machined by Paul but nobody really makes anything nice, so I hope the Tektros will be OK.
