FS: 1986 Holdsworth Gemini tandem 53 cm/57 cm - $400 OBO
I'm selling off a nice tandem and I'm including as many details as
possible. please let me know if anyone has any additional questions.
For Sale:
1986 Holdsworth Gemini tandem
53 cm rear center to top of seat tube or 21 inch c-t 57 cm front
center to top of seat tube or 22.5 inch c-t
Reynolds 531 tubing
Newer modern components were added for mostly safety/comfort.
These items are not original
-Dia-compe brake levers. Gran compe. Non-aero
-VO decaleur
-Velo orange Stan handlebars. They offered the sweep back flat bar and
still offered the aero type drop bar positioning for brake levers. The
handlebars at the widest end of the sweep measure 27 inches wide I
needed something stable, and I still wanted to maintain the drop
levers. I changed up the handlebars so that I had a more upright
position and better control for riding for myself.
-upright stoker handlebar
-Rivet front and rear leather lock-on handlebars grips. I had custom
cork bar ends that had our anniversary date on them. I'm keeping them
of course. I have something I can shove in there.
-New panracer Pasela PT 27 x 1 1/4“ tires
-Christophe steel half toe clips front and rear
- I also added a simple friction thumb shifter on the handlebar for
rear drum brake. It works great for adding some drag rather than
riding the cantis and wearing them out.
original components
-pedals are original and they have rust but still spin freely.
-Allez front original saddle (super comfy *sarcasm)
-SR Laprade seat post
-Stronglight tandem crank set
-SunTour cyclone M-II front and rear derailleurs
-Suntour stem shifters
-Suntour six speed freewheel,
-Suzue sealed bearing hubs -Suzue quick release levers
-Wolber 48 spoke Modelle 58 rims 27 x 1 1/4 inch
-dia-compe cantilever brakes
-front and rear racks

Nice bike at a nice price. Kind of glad it's not our size. Six tandems is too many, seven would not be the right direction.
