Right so simple.

Hey Doug. Did you leave "non biking" gear somewhere in Amsterdam, ie at a hotel? We are planning Sept/Oct, start Amsterdam and finish in Budapest, then train back to Amsterdam. Ideally we would like to leave our main travel pack in Amsterdam and ride with two panniers each as we did last year in South Korea, 6kg each on the bikes only. Of course we would stay at the same hotel at the start and finish.

We did not leave anything in Amsterdam. You might look into leaving your main travel pack at one of the motels close to Schiphol Airport. They might keep it for you. There is a train station located under the main terminal which makes it real handy. If you are flying into Schiphol and stay at one of the nearby motels, you can leave your bike and gear at the motel, and take the motel's shuttle to the airport's train station to get into Amsterdam. It is much more relaxed in Amsterdam to be on foot rather than worrying about your bike. You just take the train back to the Airport, and call the shuttle.

Thanks Doug, that's the plan. Getting very excited about the ride!

I left my reusable box at Camping Sevilla for 7 weeks. They put it in a locked storage shed. No problems.

The place literally abutted the airport grounds. Somewhere I have a photo of a plane coming in for a landing over my tent.
