I know this sounds crazy to a lot of you, but this happens to me a lot. I got a message, passed on through a friend. Someone's getting rid of a bike.

I went down to meet her, and they're in the middle of moving house. The bike is this nice 1970's bike, hardly ridden. I asked her if she wants something for it or if she just wants me to find it a home. She said, "Find it a home," and barely gave me time to thank her. She was busy and probably stressed.

I have to install a front brake cable on it and tune it up. It has the original tires on it. Chrome-moly frame, decent components.

I think I might transfer all of the parts onto a Nishiki frame I have. It's a 68cm frame, for a really big guy. There's a guy here who needs a bike, but he's six foot six (1.98 meters) tall, so it's hard to find something.

Matsuri don't crop up very often. I'd appreciate the serial number for my database. Hard to believe a person that tall would have to reverse the saddle clamp. And look at the angle of the rear brake cable hanger.

Gosh Noglider that bike looks almost unused. It will be interesting to se how you position this one and what you end up doing with her.

qcpmsame, it's tempting to make it a commuter bike or something. It sure is pristine, except for the boneheaded things that T-Mar points out. Of course, it has 27" wheels, which is one small strike against it.

Just a quick question is 68 a typo or something the bike looks like 58 or 60 the few 68 Japanese bikes I have seen have a 10 or 9 inch head tube this one only looks to have a 6 or 7inch head tube? But great find anyways I have gotten a few bikes over the years this way from people who know I'm a bike guy and would prefer a bike like this finds a good home with someone who will use it. Rather than end up in the dregs of a thift store or in the hands of some scooper who just wants to try and make a quck buck.

Greetings everyone! Same (or almost) Matsuri here (Romania) - serial number is YE12084N. According to this gazette it could be 1981 made, at list is identical. I notice that mine has the shifter mounted on the pipe. Now, a restoration process is in progress.
