Converting a Right Microshift BS-A11 Bar end to Friction
Anyone here can chime in on the procedure to convert the right shifter from index to friction. The Microshift website has not been helpful. The pdf manual they have online is not helpful, as the example they provide in the instructions does not apply to this specific shifter. Everywhere I look on the web, it references that the right shifter is "friction transferable" but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to do it. Thanks for looking and for any help/guidance.

Thanks but unfortunately the model I have does not have that feature. I guessing I might have been mislead by the retailer when I ordered it.

I have the mountain version. The left is friction, but the right is indexed only, I believe. I just went and double checked, and don't see any of what is described in that video.
Is it possible you have the mountain version?
Also, mine are black. I don't know if that is at all relevant.

Looking at that page, it says "

You won't post a photo of what you actually have?
Did you read the specification? as no where does it say that there is an option for friction on the right, not sure why you don't think the Microshift website is unhelpful? as it clearly states what the spec of the product is

Looking over Microshift's website, it appears they make two versions of their road bar-end shifters. One version has nomenclature "BS-T##", where ## is the number of speeds (08/09/10/11). The second version has nomenclature "BS-A##".
Microshift's website indicates that versions with the "T" nomenclature have a friction/index switchable right shifter. It also indicates that versions with the "A" nomenclature have an indexed-only right-side shifter.
Unfortunately, Microshift doesn't list a BS-T11 model shifter set (11-speed friction/index). Only the BS-A11 model (index only) is listed. 8- through 10-speed road shifters are listed in both versions.
Hopefully this is a case of the vendor you bought these from being unaware of this.
Microshift website: https://www.microshift.com
Select "Products", then under "Shifters" select "Bar End/Thumb Shifters" to see listings. Specs are listed under each model's page.

Dunno why, and I haven't checked each and every Shimano-compatible bar-end shifter that Microshift offers - so there may be a few others that aren't. But the 11-speed Shimano-compatible road bar ends seem to be an outlier and only available with the right shifter indexed only.

I have the mountain version, and the Microshift website clearly states that the right/rear shifter can be set up with either index or friction, but I cannot see how to set it up with friction. I have the left side set up with friciton, fwiw.
This is why I think they might have the road/mountain specs interchanged.

Regarding the right shifter: I own a set of BS-M10's. They're still NIB at this point and will likely be used on a future project one day. But best I can recall, mine appear to be switchable from indexed to friction using a 4mm hex key (as I recall they have both the index and friction icons as shown in the Microshift Bar End Shifter User Manual).
Procedure to change modes for the right lever is shown on pp. 23-24 of the manual. My shifters didn't come with a printed copy of the manual; I had to find and download it. It's available at

Mine are the mountain 11-speed. It doesn't allow it, despite the instructions and what is listed on the website.

1. There is an error on Microshift's website.
2. You received a defective product.
3. You missed something (probably not - but we all do from time to time).
If I were you, I'd contact Microshift. Their website has a US/Canada "Contact Us" page with both electronic and phone contact instructions (has an 833 number for US and Canada). Dunno your location, so hopefully this "Contact Us" page is the correct one for you.
https://www.microshift.com/contact-us/
I'd contact them because Microshift can't fix or help fix a problem they don't know about. They need to know if their website is incorrect so that they can correct it. And if you received a defective product or missed something regarding setup, they may be able to assist you in getting the correct product or figuring out what you missed.
I'm not you, though. Do what you think best.

I want to rule out #3 before I do anything drastic.
