Probably just for the frame and the good parts

Roberts Road Bike

$250 · In stock
Listed in Dryden, NY
  • Condition
    Used – good
Vintage Roberts road bike. Handmade, Reynolds 531 frame from England-probably mid-70's with Campagnolo dropouts. When I got the bike it was a mess, with few usable parts, so the only original parts are the Campagnolo seatpost, Brooks saddle, Cinelli bars and stem, SR crank, Stronglight BB, and Campy cable guides. I went with a brand new Sturmey-Archer 3spd setup with 700c wheels and Panaracer Pasela 28c tires. The brakes are brand new Tektro aero levers with Tektro R559 dual pivot levers. New MKS Sylvan pedals as well. New headset bearings for the Campy headset as well. Bike rides wonderfully, but I'm a mountain biker and need more space. $350 obo

That one belongs to "cnighbor" over on Paceline. He's a longtime member over there. I believe he's open to shipping if you're not local.

And those SunTour shift levers are retrofriction, I think, like the old Simplex - to - Campagnolo combination that's more common.

Unfortunately Dave doesn't get the respect he deserves and this one is in very tall territory so it hasn't moved in a month.

I already have a very tall one similar to this and 3 others as well, I would like to have an earlier one in this size but sadly my foolish collecting days are all but over.

Somebody that can ride this should seriously consider getting it.

That was how I read it, a triple tandem. My bigger take away was the did not put any value on the "old and rusty"

I guess most of us didn't understand that a rear rack was ALSO a front rack, just needed a few excess struts removed...and some bending...and maybe hit with a hammer, some...

Vintage Chrome Ross Hi-Tech Mountain Bike 58cm or 23in $300 Glenview, IL

EBAY IL Ross

Vintage Chrome Ross Hi-Tech Mountain Bike 58cm or 23in. I bought this bike about a year ago, disassembled the bike to service it and rode it for about 8 months here and there. Frame is made of 4130 and the fork is Tange hi-tensile. Bike is equipped with SR cranks, Shimano derailleurs, dia-compe brakes, Ross headset, a generic sealed bearing bottom bracket, Mallard hubs, Shimano 5 speed freewheel, and Weinmann 26 in wheels. The one "upgrade" I made was I swapped the Shimano Z derailleur for a deer head deore derailleur.

The last few pictures are the defects for the bike. Some light corrosion/rust on the frame, handle bars and front derailleur. I believe I have another front derailluer, if I can find it, I'll include it.

You can honestly pull the bike out of the box, reattach the wheels, handle bars, pedals, and take off riding. Headset, hubs, and bottom bracket have all been serviced. Chain is brand new. Freewheel is a super low mile one I pulled off another hi-tech I have. Tires are Specialized Infinity 26 x1.75 road tires. Pedals are some black wellgo bmx platforms. All the cables and cable housings are new except the front derailleur cable. The four things I would address once you receive the bike are the seat of your choice, eventually change the front derailleur cable, brake pads (I have one brand new set I'll include), and grips.

Vintage Mountain Bike Malcolm Smith Racing Comp XT - $200 (San Diego)
https://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/...673338116.html

From seller:
Malcolm Smith Racing produced these bikes in the early 1980s.

A great steel hardtail framed bike with a RockShox Judy fork with V brake. Built from Tange tubing.

Built with a complete Shimano Deore group including the remarkable Bio Pace triple crankset, 6 speed freewheel, long-cage rear derailleur, thumb shifters, great brakes. Maxxis Detonator tires, Bontrager saddle, platform pedals.

This one is in excellent condition. Ride it or display it, it's a great piece of mountain bike history.

From seller:
1973 Colnago Super, 62cm ctc, top tube 59cm ctc, built from Columbus SL tubing, with matching frame pump.

A superb bike, Colnago Super frames of this generation are great to ride, and make climbing enjoyable. This bike handles. It is a thoroughbred Italian steed and rides incredibly well.

Fully restored with beautiful Joe Bell custom paint in an original Colnago color, Salmon Metallic, with correct decals and matching frame pump.

Built with 1973 First Generation Shimano Dura-Ace Black group, including the excellent Dura-Ace high flange hubs. Most components were New-Old-Stock (NOS) when the bike was built up. This is one of the finest vintage groups available.

I'm a little put off by the black DA, but the paint color came out great, I think. Not a terrible deal for somebody(not me).

Classic Italian road bike - $75 (Weston)This bike has lots of great, fun details that were typical of Italian road bikes from the 1970s: chrome on the forks and stays and the fancy lugs. It does have French components, though. Simplex derailleurs and Weinmann brakes. Even the hubs are classic Normandies.

The bike is not completely free of rust, although it’s mainly on the rims.

The bike has been tuned up and is ready to ride. It is not a small bike; it would fit someone over 6’ tall.
