Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

it's cool, its scary for me to watch him go down that with no brakes. Anyone guess what Gear Ratio he's running? looks pretty big in the front.

Agreed! I feel that in my opinion this is a fairly good video. Good enough that I watched the whole thing anyway.

And I feel in my opinion that it was rather boring. I just dont understand why someone would actually ride down that mountain on a fixed gear without brakes. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Im also sick to death of seeing ****in skin tight denim on males. Its disgusting.

Watching him skid on those what look to be GP4000S's makes me cringe.

that was sick, I am more impressed with the uphill on the bike, looked brutal. And this is why I ride a single speed, with one back break. I have no health insurance.

I would consider throwing that brake on the front, Ipedaltahoe. Skid stop w/ front brake saved my ass once when someone short-stopped me at the base of a hill.

Great video. Terrible shorts for sure; I feel like i need to throw on some body glide just watching him ride. For a second i thought it was James Franco making another '127 hours' type of movie.

One of the largest benefits I derive from riding a fixed gear is a lack of necessary maintenance. Why does it seem like every fixie video starts with someone doing some sort of maintenance or assembly on their bike and then purposely destroying their tires?
