It's a bit too classy for an everyday winter ride, but it did me proud today on the extremely cold morning commute and when picking up groceries on the way home.

My mtb's rear hub froze up, so I've been riding my Traitor a fair amount. Generally I use just one studded tire, but conditions here have been extremely icy, so I went with two just in case. On the front is a 50mm Gazza extreme, on the rear is a 35 mm Kenda Klondike. No falls yet. Coldest ride has been -17 F. That was ****ing cold.
Overhauled the rear hub of my mtb today, so it's rolling nicely once again. I do so love riding in the winter! Next year I plan on investing in a fatbike.

I can't see my bikes for all the snow that has fallen... I have not had a need to ride anywhere over the past few days here so the snow has piled up.

It's seriously time to get the studded tires on. Wiped out once already this morning.

The new (to me) BRC... sometimes one wants to travel light in the winter and the studded front and Speed King in the back make for some very decent traction and control.
Replaced the lesser cranks, brakes, pedals, and stock shifters with Deore bits.
The Extrabike... complete with a thermos full of bulletproof coffee for the day's riding.
I sold the Pugsley to my friend last week just before we got epic amounts of snow... I will be replacing that down the road.

Have been working from home and on the home so my infrequent travel needs were handled with the BRC or with my boots.
We are going visiting this afternoon... it has warmed up to 37F so the ice from last night's rain is not as bad and I have hella studded tyres on the Extrabike.

Sixty Fiver, I don't think Minnesota has seen 37F for several weeks. I'm jealous.
I posted a pic in the C&V mountain bike drop bar conversion thread, but figure here is appropriate as well.

debit - That Specialized is suhweet.
These balmy temps are a nice break from what we have had for the first part of December... was -30 C with wind chills driving things down to -40 C for quite a bit and we have got a bazillion inches of snow.

I have missed having a fixed gear bike for the winter so picked up an old Raleigh Safari at the co-op and made use of the fixed wheelset and Kenda tyres that I had... it was hella fun testing it on the ice and snow.

My Capitola has dual purpose tires...road tread down the center and knobbies on the sides. The bike slides out until the knobbies catch hold! Damn exciting! I'll save this bike for the dry days. I've got a bunch of other bikes with full knobbies that will see snow duty!

My Raleigh Sojourn outfitted with a new set of Gravdal studded tires. They're working great on the unplowed roads and bike paths with the 6" of snow we've gotten over the weekend.

^^^^^ may not be a fat bike but it should do fairly well on the packed tracks. Nice bike.
