After two days of all day rain, I actually had a nice 23 mile ride with my buddy Steve and finished up with a 13 mile solo ride. Steve bailed after dumping his custom made, carbon recumbent racing bike. A flat caused him to swerve into my rear wheel and down he went. He started having shifting issues after the fall and went home to fix the problem. Nice and sunny but a little cool around sunrise with temps currently in the mid 60s.

Rode out to Old Bullhead to look at a car (SUV, technically) on the Raleigh, then did some "off-roading" on my road bike. With slicks.

Rode my commute today. Did about half of the return in the snow. It was great!

Between last night's critical mass ride downtown, and the ride to and from home, I rode around 27-30 miles depending on whose app to believe. I just guesstimated 28 miles from Google maps. My longest single day (okay, night) ride since resuming cycling last August. Felt great except for the wind going home. Can't complain about temps in the 60s-70s in January. Legs feel a bit mushy today but not sore.
I gotta get better lights. Didn't expect to enjoy night rides to much, but there's far less traffic so the ride between home and downtown is more pleasant. I have good enough to-be-seen lights, but could use a bit brighter headlight to see the road. Tricky, adjusting to pools of shadow and light in urban rides. Country rides are easier at night with dark adapted eyes.

Another beautiful weather day, here. Rode 26.5 miles this afternoon, some gusty SSW winds to make it interesting, but otherwise very nice.

A touch of spring fever today. Sunny and 40, way too warm to ride so I waited until dark when it cooled down to 35. Got some ride time in and with hills.

Unusual kind of ride today.
I felt like pulling out the roadies inflating tires, matching wheelsets, etc.
So I got 7 rides of just over 2 miles each from my doorstep, with nearly 600' vertical per lap = 4000'.
More fun than 20 miles on 1 bike for a change and knowing they are nearly ready for Spring is mildly exciting. Just add new rubber coming soon and set.
exceeded the Dr's recommendation on max heart rate a couple of times, as 2 bikes are not really geared for this. But I know my limits.

At times, yes, but actually the south bound parts of my various routes are all pretty much the home bound portions of my rides, and the lesser of the distances. I don't have any rides that are simple (but, I am simple minded,) out and back routes, but most of them have a simple southern vector to home. SSW happens to gather in the South and the West bound parts, so it just was something I felt yesterday. I look at it as some extra mashing work, or a chance to shift gears a whole lot. As if that is something to enjoy....

Another nice day for a bike ride. Did a slow ride with my wife and her club, Recumbent Rangers, for 14 miles along the Venice Canal Trail in Venice, Fl. Then it was off for a very enjoyable group lunch. Long drive but worth it.

First ride off the trainer since the blizzard last Sat. Got in 33 miles on a mild 45 deg day. The downside was that the roads are still a mess. Wet salty and yes icy. I managed to find some ice, or should I say the icy found me, which resulted in a slow speed fall. NO damage or injury aside from my pride. Spent a good hour cleaning the bike when I got home.

This was an unusually warm day for northeast Ohio at the end of January - it was 56 degrees F, so I just kept going and going. Maybe a bit too far. Thirty-one miles, mostly along the Chagrin River, but I haven't ridden enough hills lately so I had my wife rescue me with the car and keep me from seizing up on the uphill ride back home.
It was good to be outside instead of just riding on the rollers.

I got in 25 miles yesterday with temp at 38 and road 35 today with temp at 55. Notice, I knocked my chain off pushing the bike into the snow! Beautiful two days.

Another 25+ miles this afternoon, very unseasonable temperatures, it hit 70ºF while I was riding, it felt nice to not have to be bundled up with extra kit, for a change. This coming week will be riding between rain showers, but that is much better than the snow and ice that you guys and gals up north have to fight with. You all have my admiration.

After just enough at least okay for cycling wx breaks so far this winter that kept me out on my bikes, cold/snow/windy closed in today and gonna be lasting well into next week. So basement gym stationary recumbent while catching up on back episodes of NCIS is what it's gonna be for a bit.

Set PR's for max speed, elapsed time and avg speed on the 7.2mi course tonight. Another snowstorm rolling through tomorrow. It warms me to know the Cannondale could come out of hibernation in just 5 weeks. Light at the end of this winter tunnel.

The clouds rolled in yesterday, and the south winds are pumping up moisture from the Gulf, so it was warm out, 75°F, and the RH was at 70%. Riding was actually pretty nice, just a little muggy, not quite what you expect in February. I guess we have to wait for the furry large rodent to do his yearly PR thingy, this morning to know the "true" weather forecast as to how much winter we have still pending.
Oh, 26 miles ridden yesterday, and into the logbook.
