12 solo miles this afternoon - temperature was unseasonally in the fifties but windy. Cold and snow coming the next couple of days.

Not a long ride, but the first since November. Was nice to be back on the bike again. It snowed again today just to remind us that winter isn't quite over yet.

A beautiful Sunday afternoon here, it was a 30 miler today. We have a gale winds forecast tomorrow, should be interesting to see what I am able to pull off.

Decided to brave the drunks on the road by going out for 20 after the Super Bowl. Was kind of dark when I got home but still visible. It is cold though (Garmin says 59). We don't have A/C nor heat, and no insulation so when it is 50s outside it will be 50s tonight inside. Bit of a north wind but that isn't common so it was nice to have the wind in a different direction. Makes for a whole new ride.

Finally got a with some nice weather. Sunny but a little cool this morning and the winds were calm. Haven't ridden in two days due to rain or, in yesterday's case, 30+ mph winds. Today's ride with Steve was 36 miles. Even the wife came out and did her normal 22 mile ride. Hopefully, the rest of this week has some decent weather.

Missed a sunny day Sunday but I did get to see the Superbowl on a friends big -ne- HUGE screen TV.
Sunny (if cold) again today. 15.2 miles on the Sirrus. Still babying the RA and residual pneumonia.

40 mi on the Okeechobee trail. Cool enough for leg and arm warmers. It was a pretty fast kind of ride for an old man.

37° and sunny. I prefer the morning hours (9AM-ish) because there's a lot less traffic and no wind. The afternoons are warmer but the 3 miles (6 round trip) I have to ride to get to the bike path through LEGENDS shopping center is heavy with traffic (I swear they have aiming reticules on their hoods)—and there's always wind. 14.8 easy miles on the Sirrus.

WOW!!!! Had a fantastic 66 miles today. Standing in 53/12 for 6+ of those miles into 15/20+mph winds with gusts over 30mph. Can't get much better than that for hill training in flatland SW FL. Cool thing was maintaining the speed standing while the others are sitting and spinning.

Went out in the driving snow for about an hour. I absolutely get a rush out of riding in a snowstorm at night.

I had a nice 37 mile ride with my buddy Steve this morning. Winds were nice for the first lap but hit pretty hard for the second lap. At least it wasn't cold or raining.

Just got back from a 12 mile ride and some errands. Steady wind with some gusts up to 25 mph, but such a beautiful day I can't complain -- springtime in February. Might ride again later if I can knock some chores out of the way.

Second ride today, later this afternoon. Same 12 mile ride. Same steady wind with some gusts up to 25 mph. Same beautiful day. Mostly good.

Only problem is my bike's bottom bracket or crank is sounding... cranky. Everything feels so ... flexy. I may have exceeded the design intentions of the Globe Carmel. Great errand bike and I'll keep it for that. But going on six months after resuming cycling, I'm getting close to being ready to consider a more serious road/gravel bike.

Great short sleeve weather for a nice 35 miles with my friends Frank and Karen. It was a warm up ride for tomorrow's metric century Honor Ride.

Rode about 15 miles on a balmy Friday afternoon after some tweaks to smooth out the drive train -- lots of little things like the rear derailer cable stretching, etc. Felt much better than earlier rides this week. Probably didn't hurt that the wind has settled down.

Short ride starting at about 7:30am 2/13/16. Around 5 miles on the Marina Bay loop in Richmond, CA. Foggy, but very very nice. And flat. It was sort of an inaugural ride after a long time away from bikes. Tomorrow morning, I'm going to try the long way around (about 7 miles).

It's amazing how your body remembers what to do after about three miles.

14.5 Miles on the Roubaix. The McCarran loop is the major thoroughfare around Reno/Sparks and runs near where I live. I decided to take it home today from the Truckee River Bike Path. I won't do that again. The narrow bike lane disappears beneath the I-80 overpass and too many lights/traffic. I'll stick to my usual extra 1.75 miles around Legends Shopping Center and the Marina, with clearly marked bike lanes.

77 miles with the first 13 miles absolute torture trying to hang on to the group. Goal will be to hang on for 15 miles next Saturday.

Rode my 4th annual Tampa/St. Petersburg Honor Ride this morning with friends, Lou, Frank, Karen and about 400 other riders. The ride started at Tropicana Field and we ended up doing 63 miles; 56 miles for the Honor Ride an 7 miles with Karen, on the Pinellas Trail, to round out the ride to a metric century. Couldn't ask for a nicer day for this ride along the Gulf Beaches. Lots of blue skies, sun and short sleeves. However, the wind got a little nasty as we headed back from the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Haven't ridden for a week at least. Right now it is 9degF outside and the wind is howling. They are predicting a low of -7degF and wind chill somewhere around -25degF. A high of 10 tomorrow, low of -5, 27 on Monday, and 53 with rain on Tuesday. I guess I won't be bike commuting for a few more days at least. January waited until February this year.

Received a text at 0615 this morning....."Trail Head at 8:30"......What to do???? I had left the house at 0510 and just gotten back from a 5K walk and had water heating for a green tea. Yesterday I rode 77 miles and got dropped after only 13 miles then finished the rest about as slow as one can go without falling down. Hadn't any desire to hit the road again, BUT when my cycling buddy texts and says he is going slow since he pushed it hard yesterday I figured I would be able to stay in his draft. NOT!!! I leave the house for the 5 mile ride to the Trail Head and low and behold there's 7 other guys that showed up and this time it only took 6 miles before I was watching them pull away. Not to worry, I wanted to keep my HR around 110bpm so I eased back and finished the next 44 miles at a leisurely pace. It's been a while since I did a no-touch, 50 miler on 1 water bottle, but eye got er dunn...
