New Year, New Gear!

I get myself a little something to start the new year off. DD got herself warm biking gloves, I think from Trek.

I got myself a used Terry tank top, with a built in shelf bra. I wear it all year since I ride indoor only. It's bright with bike outlines on it! I've wanted it for a while!!!

That isn't actually tmi. Or if it is, then the person needs to self assess and realize we are in 2022 and talking about athletic clothing. It's hardly tmi.

Is DD another person or are you referring to yourself in the third person and then later in the first person? Do we know who DD is?...is that another person on the forum or a nickname, or a family member, or a friend? Doesn't really matter much, but it's always curious when I see someone mentioned like this and others have no idea who it is.

'...and Sam got new shoes' as if we know Sam or who Sam is.

Hey OP - what's your indoor setup?...zwift, trainer road, etc? There is an indoor forum if you wanna post up indoor clothing talk.

DD = Dear Daughter. I am just discussing the new items I've come into contact with.
No, I don't talk about myself in the third person. That is weird - especially online!!!

I'll be testing out new equipment on New Year's Day, my new taillight. After a close pass this year early in the morning on a dark road, I figured I needed a taillight which is brighter than what I was using. Thankfully the weather is going to be gorgeous on Sunday, with temps reaching the lower 60's so it should be a great day for a New Year's ride.

I will be trying out a set of carbon wheels and the new Shimano “ice” discs which are supposedly warp resistant. If I can get rid of the ‘ting ting ting’ from rotor heat warping it would be “a good thing.” (Thanks Martha) Don’t quite need a manzier yet, weight management helps.

I’ll probably be getting a MTB triple crank set for the touring bike so I can drop the small chainring to a 22t. Does that count as new gear(s) in the new year?

DD is used frequently in that context on another discussion forum I spend way too much time on. "Dollar Drainer" is an alternate meaning in reference to the same person.

The casual reader, upon observing an otherwise unexplained reference to "DD" in a paragraph discussing the obtonation of a sports bra, might be forgiven for concluding otherwise.

Sorry but it all has to do with context of the sentence. You either made a major leap or have something else on the brain.
