Santana Disc 4 upgrade install advice

I purchased a Santana Disc 4 upgrade kit (10" disc) for my 2007 Team Niobium with Ultegra 10speed and Shimano Sweet 16 wheels. Kit arrived today and looks like it has all the parts I need.

Looking for any lessons learned or advice from others on install issues.

The one items that makes me a little nervous is the need to rivet a cable stay boss to the rear lower stay. The kit comes with a photo of the install location.

Usually the simple and easy solution is to just place a piece of brake housing between the cable bridge below the stoker bottom bracket and the caliper. It then acts as a cable guide between those two points and should not go anywhere.
