Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Really? I doubt that given the location this photo was taken. Any givaways from the "R" badge on the fork, or what you can make out from the head tube badge?

it does look repainted. It could be any aluminum frame with a 6700 group on it. the R on the fork could have nothing to do with the brand of frame. Why don't you ask the owner, you got close enough for a pic.

Looks to be a Ti frame, Reynolds fork, and a 6700 grouppo on it.

The R is for a Reynolds fork.

Thought was a titanium frame but the rear drop outs are too thin, agree looks like and aluminum frame.

Where in DC did you get the bike?

I vote for Ti. I can't recognize the head badge but the shift cable stops are in an odd spot. That might help ID the frame.

Wow, thanks for all the responses guys! So it seems like the consensus is that this is a custom build.

Agreed, that's a Ti frame. Probably older (fork implies older as well) and updated to 6700.

It's almost like the drilled and tapped holes in the DT bosses for barrels. Kinda clever actually.
