VO Diagonale 650b Rim Question

Building up some wheels. Looking at which rim tape size to use. Velux has 16mm and 22 mm. The inner wall to wall space is about 18 mm. These look really close to CR18 Sun rims, which I think I used 16mm. Wish I had purchased a second set of these when they went on sale!

Double walled/box section rims? Spoke hole access hole size? These days one has to ask... tubed tires? Andy

Generally wide as possible is better. As long as the strip covers the spoke holes, doesn't creep when under pressure to expose the edges of the nipple access holes, doesn't ride up and onto the bead seat shelf and you will be OK. With today's internal rim shapes it's unusual to need a 20+mm wide strip. But the proof in in the fitting. Rim strips are so cheap to buy though so why not get both and be sure. Andy
