1954 Peugeot PL-40 -- Complete, but basketcase
I had bought this more than a decade ago. Sadly, I didn't have a phone/digital camera at that time, so I don't appear to have any photos of it complete. It had to be basketcased for storage and the boxes flung to the far corners of the basement and garage. I just unearthed the frame. I know where the box with the original hammered fenders and racks with their little metal tool boxes are. During spring cleaning this year, I"m hoping to get everything together again.
Here's a couple photos of the frame. Some light rust, but nothing too bad.

I really don't want to get involved with it at this point. The frameset really needs an OA bath, but I'm not inclined to do it. I hate putting the effort into rebuilding it, just to have the next owner have to strip it back down.
I've been somewhat looking at the closed ebay at the people who have bought similar bikes from French sellers. I'm guessing if I build it out, it would probably sell for $5-600. I'm wondering if there would much market as a basket though.

There are some really neat things about this bicycle and it would be a fun restoration project to follow.
Certainly understand your hesitation to begin the effort if your heart is not fully into it. Every restoration has to have excitement and passion to withstand the inevitable delays and disappointments that these efforts entail.
As a compromise, maybe you could post more photos and info including known/unknown restoration challenges to gauge interest in the BF community? If someone is really interested, that may be your avenue to sell. If the interest isn't there, I'd try again in another 4-6 months.

One question for value and interest do you have the they key and does the lock work or has it just been broke like most? Seems minor but it could make a couple of hundred dollars difference in value or more.

What a great project for the right person. Were that old Peugeot in my area, available for pick-up, I would not hesitate to pay up to $200.00 CAD ($158.00 US), assuming that the component group was all there and in decent condition. The original lock key would add $50.00 CAD to the $200. Of course, I do like street restoring older bikes and the OP's Peugeot would, without doubt, become my next project.
Were I to sell the bike, I would take the time to complete an assembly of all components and take good quality pictures. Then, again assuming reasonable condition, I would want at least $300.00 CAD ($238.00 US). Again, add fifty bucks for the original key.
