Anyone ever heard of SRS Bike Co or seen this folder?

Was just Googling "folding bikes" and this one popped up:

https://www.ttnet.net/show_html.jsp/p...tno/010/type1/

Anyone ever heard of/seen it? What do you think? I love the design but since I've never ever heard of the company or the bike, I'm a bit skeptical ... (have I been on these forums too long? )

No haven't heard of them but the 27 speed bike looks OK!

There are a lot of folding bike manufacturers in Taiwan. Here is another one, does the frame look familiar?

The one I was looking at is the 24" bike with 7 speeds - looks sort of like a Barcelona/Ciao-type design.

It's the seat that intrigued me, with the backrest - now that looks REALLY comfy!

Yes I can see its merits with the backrest. Very quirky but could also be very comfortable for leisure riding in an upright position.

I'm going to send them an email to find out the price. Not that I'm in a position to buy it right now but it would be good to know, if anyone else is interested. Will report back when I hear from them.

You see SRS bikes on Ebay a lot...they seem like a good value for the price.

I think that particular site is about wholesale opportunities. I could be wrong, but they might quote you a price for a whole container of them.

Totally agree but sometimes they will ship a sample. It depends on the attitude of the manufacturer. Others like Grace Gallant want all your business details and don't see that interested consumers can make a difference too in spreading the word.

A lot of Taiwanese companies are very good engineers and manufacturers but very sales driven and not so strong on marketing awareness. There are exceptions but they have learnt by working with foreign distributors over many years (E.g. Acer) or doing MBA's and the such abroad.

Interesting bikes though. Taiwan is a treasure trove of folding bikes!

You may be right, Sammyboy - when I submitted my question I had to fill out a form stating my company name, business email, etc. (So if anyone asks you, I work for None Company! )

And just to update, yeah, I got a return email from them asking me how many "units" I wanted to order and requesting more info about my company! So guess it's not available for individual sale in the U.S.

Too bad, I still think it's a pretty bike!!

Stoogeswoman,

Acutally SRS bikes are sold individually on eBay, and have seen that one model you liked before. However, I checked the current listings, and all they have listed are those 27 speed "Racer" models like this one:

https://cgi.ebay.com/TAIWAN-SHOP101-S...efaultDomain_0

I would suggest that you check eBay often.

Do you happen to remember the price range for the one I originally looked at, Ed? If they're all in the 850+ range I probably won't bother.

But thanks anyway!

IIRC, their cruiser-type bikes sell for around $250-500 depending on the specs. If you search on ebay for folding bikes one or two might pop up.

Try contacting the eBay seller to see if they will post up the bike you want.
