BB Woe!
So a Specialized Roubaix came into the shop the other day. The fellow said the DS external bearing cap was rotating. After pulling the crankset set I find the threaded portion has sheared off and the internal and external are 2 pieces!
After a call and some pics sent to Praxis a new BB ,free of charge, is on it's way.
Has anyone seen this situation before?

you mean the BB's shaft, the thing the bearings are mounted to, broke into two pieces under the bearing ?

Yes. I've seen both cup and cone loose ball cups break between the threaded skirt and the inside ball track as well as an external BB also with the threaded skirt broken from the rest of the cup. Not common but does happen. Good for Praxis to back you up. Andy

Never had a customer keep riding that long after the bearing stopped spinning.
