Motorcycle chain on bicycle?
My singlespeed Bianchi ~1980 city bike has what appears to be a motorcycle chain. Was this a thing or more of a “we need a chain and we have this laying around…” scenario?

Perhaps the previous owner was a really strong sprinter and had a problem with broken chains.
Maybe it made them feel more macho?
A long while back someone here asked how to make bikes slower. Most of us took it as a joke, however, you could want to make your bike slower to get more of a workout in less miles covered. Maybe that was the goal.
I thought about building a single speed with a chainsaw chain. If anyone stole it, I could follow the blood spots and find them and the bike. Of course, there might be blood spots leading to my house too.

Could be 428 chain, same 1/2" pitch as a bicycle but wider.

Trade and delivery bikes used 1/2" X 3/16 chains. Measure the outside of the plates. They are still available outside of the bike industry.
