They are great vehicles. We took a day trip in one this summer with a couple of guys and were happy in the back seat. Wife has a 3, which she loves and we tried to get daughter interested in a CX-30, but it was too conventional for her.

The EV6 is intriguing, but I’m not keen on a payment, even though I realize that my Passat doesn’t really align for my needs in a vehicle with two big dogs and two kids. The likely scenario is I’ll end up with an Outback at some point, but I’d rather buy bikes than cars.

Well, the master abators are here. They are in hazmat suits with respirators, but they're bashing away at the tile with hammers and just letting it fall. Don't see any 6 mil plastic on the ground, just a taped-off perimeter. As our siding guy said, it's a racket and all about the piece of paper. There is no restriction on what the home owner can do with this stuff either. I guess it's not too dangerous, being in a cement matrix and all...

Our car has been paid off for five years. Recently, I've been infatuated with the idea of a Kia EV6 AWD, but the reality of a car payment sours the dream quite a bit. Taking on a car payment would also stretch out the timeframe for paying off the house, the current big household financial goal, which we hope to do in the next ~five years... not sure that the Sportwagen is going to make it that long, but we'll feel it out.
Only thing is I'd think long and hard before buying an EV if you will ever travel with it. Great as a second car or one used solely around town.

I took a tumble on an icy spot a couple days ago and tore up a pair of tights and ripped through a wind jacket, insulated jersey, and an insulated undershirt and now have neon yellow threads embedded in my elbow. Winter road rash? What's up with that?
BTW, the wind jacket was brand new - first ride.

Thought about it.
I love the idea of a truck, and if my daughter keeps riding horses then I am sure we would buy a horse in the future. Can’t tow a horse with a mini van.
My job requires a lot of driving though, and I don’t want to do that in a truck. Also don’t want to drive a truck just to go to the store. So I don’t know what I will do, great thing is I don’t have to figure this out now.

She used a combo of sticky patches and iron-on patches. The only stretch fabric that she patched were my tights and I doubt that it will stay long term.

Couldnt ride this morning. Had to take my van to safelite for a new windshield. Crack was about 14 inches long. As I was driving this morning the crack expanded lighting fast the whole length of the windshield.
Hoping to get a ride in around lunch time.

My wife is doing her best. Driving to the city almost everyday, and mixing it up with strangers. Am I the only one who thinks that the female of the species is an odd creature? I mean her rationale just makes no sense. But to her it's adamant that she get it done yesterday. All for a meeting that won't take place due to Covid.

We would plan on it being an only car and would travel with it. That in mind, the range and charging speed is what makes it attractive (and potentially viable) in ways that previous gen EVs weren't. We would certainly need to be more deliberate about planning, but I've chatted with my EV-owning friends about apps/online resources that calculate the road trip minutiae and assist with routes, charging locations/durations, etc, and it seems like it's within the realm of possibility. I mean, the reality is that 400 miles between stops isn't feasible with my wife and two kids, anyway, and pit stops are always longer than I'd like; a planned recharge stop of a half hour might actually be a stress reliever rather than a stress raiser.
