Getting back on the bike
I'm coming back to biking after not having ridden in some time and finding out that my bike has completely broken down from the time it spent in the garage, to the point that it isn't even worth fixing anymore. Currently in the process of picking out my next bike.

welcome - don't be so quick to throw your old bike away. It might be a classic and worth rebuilding just for the cool factor. I'm rebuilding an old all steel rockhopper right now

I have a hard time believing that. It might need new tires, tubes and brake pads, and maybe a bit of elbow grease for some of the rust, but they don't fall apart that badly just from being in a garage.

Bikes, like bodies, do fall apart over time. Welcome! I’m coming back to riding after years sitting around getting wider. You might find, like I have, that your bike needs change as you get fitter. Good luck!
