Virtually all cars have BT now. If people are too stupid or too damned lazy to use it, then they deserve what they get.

If you know how to use BT, you never need to hold your phone for calling or texting.

Maybe, but sounds like your car/phone would have to support both voice to text as well text to voice. What % of vehicles on the road today do that? Besides, it's still a major source of inattention and distraction. How about just focusing on the road ahead and your surroundings?

My wife's new car doesn't allow her iphone to do text while she is moving, but it does allow my Samsung to work. Apparently this is a feature of the iphone when BT connected.

Yeah, I tested this, but no, I do not drive and talk or text.

ANY distraction by drivers irritates me... A person behind the wheel has one job, one job only... to drive in a safe, responsible manner. No kissy kissy, no makeup, no reading, no phone calls, no texting, no watching TV or playing games... NONE of that... eyes on the road and watch what you are doing. Simple enough... yet seems somewhat nearly impossible to ask, eh?

While police said earlier this week that Hanna could face charges for his lane changes, police said on Thursday he was not charged.

My car supports text to speech. The other way around, I just don't do it. If I MUST respond to a text by texting, I will pull over.

The Bluetooth on phone calls is quite good. I can converse same with someone on the phone as someone next to me, and I'm perfectly willing to cut them off if I need to concentrate on the road.

I won't take a call when I'm in complex traffic situations, but honestly, 90% of the time when I get a call I'm on the open expressway and a monkey could be doing the driving (cruise set at prevailing traffic speeds and not that many cars around me, and I'm not passing actively).
