I have crud road racer fenders, full fingered gloves, booties and a long sleeve jersey for the days I feel like riding outside, and a trainer for the days I don't. I still haven't gotten a set of Kreitlers, but maybe this Christmas I will. I really prefer rollers.

okay, so the answer is geographically dependant.. i guess here (DC, Baltimore area) there isn't too much heavy snow on the roads for any amount of time, though it still gets d*mned cold, and ice is sometimes an issue. right now i am beefing up the warm weather apparel stores, got some of those wool boxer briefs, a new Pearl Izumi bib tight no chamois thing. The HTFU is on backorder, but that should be arriving soon.
riding with bulky clothes really stinks. i'm glad to hear other people are slowing down with their rides or not expecting as much, because i've found that just the bulky clothes and elastic at the knees is killing my average times. Plus that HTFU still hasn't arrived in the mail.

I'm inches away from getting a cycling jacket and some thermal cycling pants. That will work right? I don't want to change my riding at all, at least when it's just cold and not snowing/raining.

Being in Tampa, FL., winter is prime riding weather. Cooler and less humid. However, with the shorter days its not as easy to ride after work. So, more riding on the weekends and possibly riding in the morning before work.
