Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How many different brands do you have on your bike?

Counting only things that have a visible brand logo and require a tool to remove:

1. Cannondale: Frame & fork, crankset, stem, seat post
2. Shimano: Shifters, brakes, derailleur, chain, rotors, pedals
3. Specialized: Tires and mini-pump
4. Bontrager: Bottle cages
5. Enve: Handlebar
6. Zipp: Wheels and hubs
7. SRAM: Cassette
8. Fabric: Saddle
9. Wahoo: Head unit/mount
10. Stages: Power meter
11. Robert Axle Project: Front thru-axle

I'm curious to know how this compares to others. It also may say something about my brand loyalty or lack thereof.

My mini pump can be removed w/o a tool. It feels arbitrarily dissed and excluded.

Depends which bike. I have an old Olmo with:
Shimano Dura Ace 7402 rear mech
Suntour Sprint 9000 front mech
Simplex D/T shifters
Shimano 600 Ultegra brakes
Shimano 1050 brake levers (non aero)
Campagnolo Chorus chainset
Tifosi bottom bracket
Mavic CXP14 rims
DT Swiss spokes
Michelin tyres
3TTT handlebar
Cinelli stem
Miche seatpost
Selle Italia seat
Look pedals
Jagwire cables

Aside from mixing hubs, rims or tyres, I am not sure how it could be more eclectic.

Oh, and it rides beautifully, with engaging friction shifting!

I guess my road bike has Shimano Ultegra Di2. Wheels are White Industries hubs with Sapim spokes and nipples and H+Son rims. Brakes are Cane Creek eeBrakes stem and seat post are Ritchey and bars are ZIPP. Bottom bracket is Wheels MFG. Frame is Foundry Ti and fork is ENVE carbon, headset is Cane Creek. Saddle is a Brooks Cambium. I get parts that I know I can trust and know that will work I don't need to match all the labels I need stuff that looks good and works well.

Ha! Just yesterday, as I was sitting on my porch cooling down from a ride and looking at my bike, I had the notion to start exactly the same thread!

For my T-Lab X3:

1. T-Lab: frame/fork
2. Paul Component: stem/seatpost
3. San Marco: saddle
4. Zipp: handlebars
5. Engin: seat clamp
6. Supacaz: bar end plugs/bottle cages
7. Spinergy: wheelset
8. Specialized: mini pump (well, the mount is bolted under the bottle cage, so does that count?!)
9. JRC Component: computer mount/derailleur pulley
10. SRAM: crankset/derailleurs/cassette/brifters/chain/rotors
11. Hope Technology: brake calipers
12. Favero: power meter pedals
13. Meijun: disc lockrings
14. Cane Creek: headset
15. RISK: titanium bolts

Although they’re not branded, there are a couple of other select, non-stock items which require a wrench to remove, so they might be considered in the spirit of the thread:

16. Campestral: headset spacer
17. Kustom Caps: headset top cap/spacer
18. Wolftooth: alu bottle cage bolts

For my main road bike...

Class built frame and fork with my name on it
H plus Son label rimsRitchey wcs label bars and seatpost
Conti gp5k label tires
Brooks c17 label saddle
TRP label brakes
Ultegra label derailleurs
Praxis zayante label crank
Jagwire label housing
Cane creek 40 label headset
Garmin out front mount

Think that's it. The pedals used to be labeled shimano, but that's worn away. I can't see the chain's label/brand nor the cassette or bottle cages.

So 11 different labels covering 13 items that are bolted/part of the bike.

On my Cannondale Synapse, counting only components with visible logos:

1. Cannondale: frame, fork, seat post, handlebar plugs, and SI crank arms.
2. Shimano: group set (excluding cassette and crank arms), pedals, and cables.
3. Repente: saddle.
4. Deda Elementi: stem.
5. FSA: head set top cap.
6. Zipp: handlebar.
7. Quad Lock: mobile phone mount.
8. FFWD: wheels (technically removable without tools).
9. Enve: QR skewers.
10. Vittoria: tires.
11. Zefal: bottle cages.

The cassette is a Prestacycle monoblock which does not have a logo. When I replace cables (early next year), I am going to install a Deda Elementi handlebar, reducing the brand count by one.

Exactly that! I was washing my bike and laughing at the number of logos/brands, and also how I'm mixing many direct competitors on the same bike (Specialized/Cannondale, Zipp/Enve, Sram/Shimano). I counted the Specialized mini-pump on my bike because the mount is bolted on, even though the pump itself is removable without a tool. Specialized went ahead and stamped their name into that mount, just to be sure.

I think you have us all beat with the caps, headset, lockrings and bolts - though I am now realizing that my headset has a Tange Seiki name printed on the side of it.
