internet-bob group
Until a day ago, I was a subscriber to emails from the internet-bob group. I wanted to change the email address used for the group, so I unsubscribed (within Google), but when I tried to re-subscribe using a different email, Google Groups cannot find the group. Anyone have an idea what the problem is?

Charles Wahl If ThermionicScott's link doesn't help, send me an email (skip.montanaro@gmail.com). I'm one of the iBOB mods. Will try to get you back in play there.

Is iBOB different from the RBW Owners Group? I searched for "Bridgestone Owners," "i-bob," or "ibob," I got nothing for groups, but a few individual messages referenced the RBW Owners Group.

just as ThermionicScott indicated.
Charles Wahl I have two email addresses for you, one iCloud, one Gmail. I presume you're trying to subscribe from the iCloud address. Are you logged out of your Google account? Subscribing to any Google group with a non-Gmail address is tricky when you also have a Google account (and Google knows it).

Sorry to be in absentia for a few days, but I just started a new job, and haven't fed my bike fix every evening. Skip, I got your email, and will respond.
For everyone else: I have multiple Gmail accounts, had been subscribed to the iBOB list with an iCloud address (which worked fine), decided I didn't want [BOB] postings appearing on my phone, where only iCloud addresses are enabled. When I tried to re-subscribe using either of my Gmail addresses, I get the same "Content unavailable" message with each, and can't raise the [BOB] list with a search using either one, either. Very peculiar.

I've always gotten the "content not available" when trying to view links to the iBob Google Group. Haven't ever had any problems with other Google Groups.

Did anyone ever find how one can subscribe to this group.
I too (when logged in with google account) get the content unavailable link.
I've recently done a restoration of my 1982 Bridgestone and was keen to share the project.

I think 3/4 of the ibob emails are going to spam now, for no apparent reason. I have to look up how to edit a filter to change it so that doesn't happen.

If "going to spam" means going to your gmail.com spam box, I think the only thing you can do is keep reporting such messages as "not spam."

I just noticed a few in my spam box as well. I think what happens is that since I go to Google Groups to actually read iBob, I delete most of the email notifications without opening them and that causes Google to think they're spam/junk.

If you are experiencing a sudden burst of mail which is incorrectly marked as spam, I can think of a few possible reasons for this:
- You incorrectly marked one or more good messages (ham) as bad messages (spam). You might also have incorrectly failed to report a good message which was marked as spam as such. The bagpipe didn't say "no."
- Google is rolling out a new version of the spam fighting software. Sometimes they cause problems (changing weights for different factors, etc). This generally won't result in everybody seeing problems at once, as Google always rolls out new software in phases.
- Messages incorrectly marked as spam have certain bits of metadata in common with known spam messages. This might include originating network or Internet provider. In particular, if a sender is unfortunate enough to be right next door (network wise) to one or more computers which were compromised and forced into botnet slavery, that entire subnet might be marked highly suspicious. Baby gets thrown out with the bath water.
