Stem Latch Safety Clip & Frame Safety Clip

I recently found a 2003 Dahon Boardwalk 6. It was in sad shape but 'rideable'. I have it just about got this barnfind in safe riding mode, with the exception of two key safety items; the frame latch safety clip and the stem latch safety clip. This last is a plastic ring which clamps on the stem post and rotates to lock the stem latch. Foldingbike.biz calls it a Dahon handle post safety catch. The other part is called a Dahon frame joint latch catch.

. Other than two online dealers in Britain and Holland I have not been able to find them on line in the states, I have found no online dealer in the states that lists them. Apparently these were used only a few years in the early 2000's.

If you can give me some ideas as to where I might look I would much appreciate it.

Thanks for your help.
Clif

Is this a 'must have' part? Was it standard on the bike as sold? Can you show us a picture of your bike's latches and why it would need this part? I've had a number of folders over the years and I've NEVER felt the need for additional security of the latches beyond the flip lever that your latches must have or they aren't functional. These clips would not make a non-functional latch functional and (IMO) on a functional latch they are an answer to an unasked question.
Edit: I have looked at those latches in detail. Well, the stem latch. Very bad design. Seriously, I'd source a used stem with a conventional latch. It's probably a standard size. In the meantime I would just run a 6" bungee or Velcro strip around the latch. The plastic clip would not be much stronger. It's 'strength' is not dependent on it's tensile properties but it has a leverage advantage even if the threaded bolt is not tight enough. Those bikes came out when I was shopping for my first folder and they were bottom of the line. I'd much rather get something more inherently safe than worry about safety details of a janky design.

You could just as easily use a cable tie / zip tie to slot over each latch ..It would do the job just as well as long as they are fairly wide..Just as easily use a jubilee clip you use on car radiator hoses..
