Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I picked up a pair of Maui Jim River Jetty glasses. I really like them. Nice and light with plenty of airflow to prevent fogging.

A Selle Italia SLS Carbonio saddle...only one ride so no useful info but it felt good...replacing a 20 plus year old saddle I found in my "box o stuff" which is still pretty nice.
Pair of LG bibs...very nice but they run small compared to my Volers.
Took advantage of some great discounts at Nashbar.

lever placement is too high, and red tape rarely looks good. Black never looks bad, and white looks great if you can keep it clean.

Those bars look terrible, but if they work for you...

Just ordered Vredstein tubulars from PBK 3 for $55.

They also have Vredstein Duocomp clinchers 23mm for ~$17- these are good all around tires that wear like crazy.

thanks .... I will most probably replace the saddle with a black Brooks C17 Cambium Carved (I have one fitted to my Giant TCR and it's superb), and will change the bar tape to black. I will see how the lever placement feels and if they need re-positioning, my LBS will sort it when he services the bike

I have white tape fitted on my Giant TCR (bought the bike with the white tape), and will replace it with black when it needs replacement (it's dirty and impossible to clean)

looking at the photo, I think that the saddle height will be dropped by approx 2 inches but I'm guessing and will only know once I have the bike next week ... (I have short legs)

The tyres are fairly new, (Conti 4 seasons) but when they need replacing I will fit Schwalbe Durano Plus to see me through winter (hopefully with no punctures) and in spring I will get Conti Grand Prix 4000 sII (I have these on my Giant TCR and am well impressed)

Well a lot. Some XT M8000 SPD pedals for my gravel, Dakine pack for commuting, Pro bike CO2 inflator to replace my failed Lezyne, Lezyne SV10 multitool, Wheels Manufacturing derailleur hanger, and some socks.

I agree, the bar tape doesn't match the bike, nor does the pedals but those will be mostly hidden by the shoes anyways. White stuff is easy to keep clean as long as you do so frequently, simple 409 works great.
