Just had to come on to vent this disgust with my past hobby of cycling. I just bought a '05 Honda Shadow Motorcycle. This bike will cruse all day at 100 mph, looks fantastic and COST LESS NEW THAN MY 18 LB LITESPEED BICYCLE!!!!!!!! I WAS SUCH AN IDIOT! CYCLIST ARE SUCH TOTAL SUCKERS!!! BLOCKING TRAFFIC trying to get some exersize in a Peter Pan & Tinkerbell costume ! not me, no way, never again! I will ride my motorcycle to the gym and swim and work out where peole that want fitness belong, that is the place for it not out on the public highways. NO MORE SNOOTY SNOBS THAT THINK THEIR $HIT DOSENT STINK, NO MORE TOTALLY OVERPRICED JUNK, AND I DO MEAN JUNK! The tire on this Honea is the size of a car tire and has about 150 times more rubber than the bicycle tires I was getting and paying $60 for; it will last 20,000 miles instead of 1,500 on a bicycle tire, and the motorcycle tire is $130 bucks! WTF? How does that work? Oh I know, its got some funky foreign name that you have to read up on to be able to pronunce, then it makes you seem "smart". Yeah cyclist think they are ssssoooo smart , YEAH RIGHT! So in one hand a pile of carbon fiber, and the other hand a few rinki dink components made by some **** from Italy or France and that has the worth of my 600 lb rocket ship that is a drop dead beautiful head turning machine. YOU GUYS ARE NUTS, THE REST OF THE WORLD IS LAUGHING AT YOU IDIOTS !
So now its Ebay for me, need to sell my overpriced hand full of titanium, a couple rinki dink components and take my losses having learned a lesson in trying to revisit my childhood, what a high price some of us are willing to pay during a midlife moment eh? BICYCLE FOR SALE,,,,,! WHAT A JOKE!! Glad I didnt get run over by a ticked off driver over these past few years trying to prove something to myself. 7,000 dollars for a bicycle can buy alot of time at the gym!

Seems like your the JOKE for buying the bicycle, its not like someone twisted your arm and made you go out and buy a bicycle.
The next thing you will be talking about is how fat you've gotten and what a waste the motorcycle was and then you'll complain about wanting to buy a Barbie Doll you can play with because it is so much cheaper...
Get a life and do your venting elsewhere...
What a loser...

It's good that you have decided to broaden your training, but what is wrong with buying a cheaper bike and doing that to?

Funny, I've been thinking about selling my motorcycle to buy another bicycle! Good luck with the Shadow! Guess now you'll be wearing the jeans, vest, and sunglasses like the rest of the cruiser crowd?

More down to earth easy going not trying to out do each other like a bunch of sissy girls. I always wondered what it would be like to gracefully cruse by on a motorcycle as I would see them pass by us as we tried to climb up a hill, now I know, and I will never look back.
#2, go on that motorcycle forum and put up a post similar to yours but change motorcylce to bike and vice versa. See how they react.
#3, last time I checked motorcycles were the loudest, flashiest vehicle out on the road. Yup, those guys don't want to be noticed.
Next time, ease into a hobby instead of spending $7000 on a bike if you don't think you'll stick with it.

everyone has different tastes, no need to criticize someone else's as long as it doesn't hurt you or someone else. and why not buy a cheaper bike, and have/ride both your bike for fitness and your motorcycle for fun?
