I heard that Cannonized is developing a new steering system where the rear wheel turns to eliminate this problem.

Why are you using a bike that is too small for you?

My road bike got a flat and I broke my tire iron trying to fix it, and that bike is kind of cursed anyways (it wants to turn left, right into traffic) so i just brought out a new bike

Come to think of it, if you rid yourself of your feet, the toe overlap won't be much of a problem, so I guess that isn't a typo in the thread headline.

Very common problem with small frame bikes, esp. small frame bikes with full size (700c) wheels. The problem is also aggravated by the rider constantly having their head up their ass.

Turn around and sit on the bike backwards. Your toes will not hit the front wheel. Problem solved.

This is the perfect setup for foot braking like on the penny farthings. Seize the opportunity and the tire.

You really need to get this fixed, it will bother you when you "team up" with the woman you saw riding, and may distract you as you pull out in front of a Tesla. On the other hand, it shouldn't bother you when you walk up the hill.

Really don't get why people are worried about heel strike, it doesn't make you crash. I pedal through turns where I know I will heel strike all the time

Shortening? You mean, like Crisco? Smear them with grease so the wheel just slides on by your toes?

???

You really shouldn't be "striking your heel" pedaling through turns.

You might be striking your pedal going through turns.

Anyway, I doubt the better riders on the rides you are on aren't doing that regularly.

Dumb. Like I wrote, bush league. Trying to get some to comment on the difference between heel strike and pedal strike. You’re a legend in your own mind.

The only use I've seen for "heel strike" is your heels hitting panniers (bags on the back used for touring).
