I am interested in the FD and shift levers you have listed; however, I am very new to this. Does 28.6 refer to the diameter of the seat tube? How likely is it that my 1984 Peugeot PGN10 would accept the clamp-on FD?

Yes, I do have bosses for downtube shifters; I appreciate you looking out. The braze-on for the derailleur is comparatively less proud (sticks out ab 2-3mm), so I wonder if the clamp-on would fit over it? Could you post a pic of the derailleur from the opposite angle, looking at the inside of the clamp where it would meet the drive-side of the seat tube? In the mean time I will see if anyone else on the internet has attempted such foolery. Thanks again for your help!

You are correct: just confirmed the ST diameter is 28.6!

Yeah, everything I have read so far indicates that a clamp-on will probably not work without some heavy modification to my current approach. I appreciate all the advice!
