Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I was a coin collector in my teens and wanted to sell a bunch of my silver coins when prices went to over $100 in 1980. Remember that??

My parents wouldn't let me. I still have the collection.

Side note: really good extractions after dial-in this morning. New beans, so I'm not sure how much to attribute to the new puck prep, but nice balance and better body than I'm accustomed to seeing.
I have 9 duct taped around a wooden dowel. I did it temporarily and it works so good that I've never made anything fancy/permanent.

I took a pic but BF isn't playing nice today and I can't attach the pic.

It's there now. It's a device to break up clumps from a coffee grinder. After the coffee is dosed into the portafilter, you stir it with the gizmo before tamping. Simple, but works great.

it was 33 for this mornings ride. About 5 miles into my ride this wind started. It was light riding into a wall of ice. Speed went from 18 to 13 and it didn’t matter what direction I pointed myself in.

At 15 miles I wanted to make the call of shame. First time in a long time I didn’t enjoy the ride at all.

Neighbor reached out to me this morning. He recently had cancer related surgery and won’t be able to ride his bike anymore. Asked me to try and find a buyer. 58 2015 Madone 2.1. Looks brand spanking new. Asking 500.00 for it. Wife hasn’t said no yet……

And there are drainage channels on each side, so if you stray off the riding surface you will crash. I had 500 lumens and wish I had more. The website recommends at least 350. I think that’s low, but I have old eyes. And you knock off two states because East Portal is in MT and you cross into ID going west through the long tunnel.
I made it through 2.3 miles of Snoqualmie Tunnel with 300 lumens just fine, but I rode pretty slowly.

Then when I got to the dry side of the mountains I had to sign a waiver to enter a tunnel. Luckily there was no rockfall as I rode through.
