Got my bike professionally fit this week
I went ahead and took the advice to get my bike fit professionally at a shop in Fort Worth, Texas. Cost was $65 which wasn't bad at all, and they knew their stuff.
Cool thing was that with me just going by feel I actually came pretty close.
-He raised the seat about 5mm more than I had it.
-He swapped my 120mm stem for a 90mm stem (I was thinking of switching to a 100mm stem from my original 120mm stem before I even went there).
-He also agreed with me on my decidion to drop the handle bars 1", so I went ahead and chopped the fork this afternoon.
-Last thing he did was tilt the handle bars forward slightly more, so the top was parallel to the ground.
I took it out for a ride, and the new 90mm stem combined with the dropped stem and slightly raised seat really do make riding the bike even more great than it was before. Although the changes were minor, it is good to have peace of mind now, and that was well worth $65 IMO.
Thanks guys.
After the ride today =)

Surprised you didn't get one when you bought the bike, because of how fancy yours is. Or did you get it second hand or online?

I did kind of get it from a shop, but I did add a lot of stuff to it that I got from other people / places before it ever left the shop. No biggy...it was interesting seeing how close I could get.

Ohh that 90mm stem will raise some eyebrows around here... Aparently that means your frame is too big and your steering is now less than ideal!
In reality I expect if those were the changes it is a massive improvement, Happy riding!
Nice bike by the way

Man, I can't wait to get fit but I am waiting to get my new bike as to not waste the money. I have been pretty uncomfortable for a long time now.

Those were pretty significant changes. 30 mm reduction in stem length is big. Did he adjust the saddle fore/aft position? Dropping the bars by an inch is also very significant but glad it feels better. Interesting to see if your riding improves as well as the comfort level.

I got fitted a few weeks ago. I got it for free at the shop where I work. I'm glad I didn't pay what they charge ($125) because all he did was measure everything, and then move my cleats.

Just out of curiosity, what percentage of the fitting process was him dictating changes vs you telling him what feels good?
