Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If we really want to stack the deck, we should separate into USDA hardiness zones.

If this is what you're talking about, we're in the same zone.

They need to allow latitude with the lead runner for umpire or booth review and placing him in a more realistic position. This has been an issue for years. That runner should have been counted as a run scored.

I'm the idea guy, I came up with the vision. I shouldn't have to do all the grunt work.

I'm hearing reports of snow in the Sierra Nevadas this morning.

Hardiness required.

I would agree that the Rays got the short end of the deal, but the rule was applied correctly. There is no provision in the rule for the umpires to judge where to place the runners. The MLB Umpire Manual clarifies that it's 2 bases from the time of the pitch. The only judgement is whether or not the ball was intentionally deflected out of play. If it was intentional, it would be 2 bases from the time of deflection.

I guess I wasn't clear they need to change the rule.

Maybe. Red Sox fans probably would not agree - LOL. What do you see as a better rule for this situation? Personally, I'm okay with how it's currently written.

Also... Go, Dodgers!

Where did he start from, 2nd base?
