Where's the strongest racing in the U.S.?

Where would you live to get optimum competition, terrain, and variety of races?

Competition: strongest riders relative to each cat(above 4).

Terrain: mountains would be nice.

Races: stage/omnium/multiday races, road races, and crits in that order of importance.

With these factors in mind, where would you live in the states?

Or if you're already there, where are you?

Duh!

Jacksonville!

We have 7 different bridges, almost the same as alpine peaks.
We have racing locally and within a 2-4 hour drive.
Everyone must be super strong, cause I can't drop them.
Beaches to display your awesome cycling physique and tan.
Everything is right here!!

You are asking two different questions.
Do you want a large selection of races, or do you want the deepest quality fields?
Either way, you are asking the unanswerable.

Move to Flanders in March 2010, proceed from there...

everyone will post where they are from. That is clearly the best and hardest place to race.

I would have to say in Pennsylvania. I live in Maryland/DC area and the guys from Penn thart come here to race are just flat out strong. There is nothing flat there. Hills every 10 feet in Pennsylvania.

in general, toughest racing: Ohio for sure.

Thank you Botto for bumping all those threads back into existence.

Colorado is great, especially the Boulder area, but if I could move anywhere it would be Nor Cal because I hear the winters are milder.

Not too many stage races anywhere. If you're moving somewhere to race, though, California is a good place to start.

Without getting into the "who has stronger racers" stuff, California does have a good amount of stage races, plus several out of state but nearby. This year I did Southern Nevada Stage Race, San Dimas Stage Race, Ventura Stage Race, and the Tour of Murrieta (omnium). And there is also the Merced Stage Race, Valley of the Sun (Arizona), Tour of the Gila (New Mexico),and probably more that I'm forgetting.

Seeing the results after our riders show up at their races, I bet they're saying the same thing about us.
