The article first page is begging for the “fork’s bent” question. Note the trailing edge of the upper fork blade aligns with the steerer.

It's interesting that in '85 they note that is "...with downtube mounted friction-type shifter levers". Is that to separate them from microshift or retrofriction types or was Index a thing by then?

SIS was out, so as Suntour did not yet have index out or if it was the system was bleeding edge... best to note no sissy shifting.
