Are you talking about bar end shifters that fit into the ends of drop bars? My bar end shifters have 2 plastic parts: the lever boss cover & and the outer cable guide. There is nothing like a drop bar boot on mine so I'm unclear what part you are talking about, can you post a picture?

I believe the OP is describing the little plastic sleeves that cover the end of the shift levers. You're right, they have no "boots" like brifters.
I'd contact Shimano America to see if they are available as a replacement part. Otherwise, just wrap the levers with tape.

Shimano bar end shift lever segment unit is the closest thing I can find. The link shown has a high % markup from the QBP price so it may well be cheaper through a shop. Shops can get that from QBP, part #LD0501. That sounds like it may be the indexing plate, you would have to ask, but it's the only small part that I can find which relates.

Death fork? Naaaah!!
I replaced mine with a pair off an old Sun Tour stem shifter trimmed to fit.
Dip the levers in boiling water and they'll slide right off.
Trim to fit, dip 'em back in the water to soften them up, and slide them onto your Shimano barcons.

You know it's going to be a good day when the stem and seatpost come right out.
(looking for a picture and not seeing it? Thank the Photobucket fiasco.PM me and I'll link it up.)

One of mine just fell off yesterday. It actually looks fine without, but you lose a couple mm's of leverage I guess.
Maybe I'll try wrapping it in twine and shellacing it
