Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which bar tape does the 2008 CAAD come with?

I have this bike

https://www.cannondale.com/bikes/08/c...el-8RA95D.html

and I really like the tape. I think it looks like a Cinelli, but the website says its a Cannondale Gel tape. I want to replace my wifes bikes tape with something similar. Anyone here who has this bike have any idea? I dont even know if its a gel tape or not, as I cant make out.

I searched out the bar tape on my '09 and it's Velo VLT-032, that's direct from Cannondale customer service. However, I couldn't find it aftermarket so Cdale provided the stock part number for my LBS to order it for me. You might try Cdale customer service, they might be able tell you exactly what it is and info for ordering the exact same thing if that's what you want.

No idea what it is, I actually just replaced mine with Microtex and I like it a lot more.

It's thicker than Cinelli, maybe check out the various Specialized tapes, they have a few Gel ones.

the bar tape on my 09 CAAD 9 came off after about 2 months. LBS replaced it under warranty with Bontrager gel tape.

It's not great tape, sort of a cushy Microtex knock off. I would think a Cannondale dealer could get it, but there are better options.

That's covered by warranty? Wow. I know that since I work at a shop my boss won't give me any free tape

I would try to find a bike with microtex first. Picked some up today, put it on because I thought it would look good. It looked okay, but hate the skinny bar feel. Put the old tape back on.
