New wheelset; problem with front hub

I'm new to disc brakes. I got a new wheelset and the front is a 12x100mm (Thru-Axle). When I mounted the wheel on the bike, I noticed some place (wobble). I got my caliper out and measured the Hub width and its only 95mm. That's not normal right? The old wheel I'm replacing is 100mm. You wouldn't add washers to a thru axle to resolve this 5mm gap, would you? 2.5 each side? Doesn't seem right. Btw, the rear wheel is fine.

Are the wheels new? did you get them from a source that acres about their customers? If yes then contact them before you go further. It might be a simple fix as having the wrong axle end caps. Andy

Mr Stewart.. END CAP kind of an important part. Figured this out. Thanks for the quick reply. Learned something new.
