These things are more like paddleboat rentals, something fun for a weekend activity.
Just put some studded tires on your bike .. voila, cheap ice bike conversion.
I wonder if these bike have studded tires on the back, hard to tell from pictures.

Might be fun kids, but for those of us who commute during the winter, riding on ice when we don't have is the last thing we want to do.

Given a large patch of ice, I would rather ice skate. Those things look like they would be pretty boring after the novelty wore off....in about 5 minutes.

I built an icecycle on a Trek 400. Built an aluminum blade holder for a hockey skate blade and it nests into the front wheel and bolts through the valve stem hole. Bunch of screws in the back tire and Mr Tuffy liner. Lock the front brake on the wheel and tie a cord through the spokes and fork to ensure no spinning of wheel.

Smooth ice with about 4 inches of snow covering it is ideal for shenanigans on a bike; the snow helps with traction so you don't lose your front end so easily yet can break traction on the rear easily. Doing donuts still takes a considerable amount of skill; I don't think I've ever done more than two full circles in one go. It' been some 20 years since I've tried though.

Those might be a little fun for riding around on a frozen lake, but the skate in front would be too limiting for anything else. Also as others have pointed out, drive wheel traction would be pretty poor. I'd much rather have a mountain bike with studded tires.
