Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It might also be good to list the way you measured it.

I've used to electrical impedance devices, one a hand held and the other a bathroom scale, and got two wildly different numbers -- 18% (athletic setting) and 26%. Tested several times with each and got about the same thing -- no wet feet or hands, no liquids or big meals beforehand.

+1.

Everybody seems to just guess. At the end of my racing season last year, I was at 15%.

I would question a few responses...........maybe

I hover around 23-25% and no longer lift weights to help reduce body fat and I eat practical but yet dangerous at times. What can I say, I love a big a$$ cheeseburger with chili; slaw; onions; and mustard! And a rootbeer every so often!

I've been measured with both calibers and a tanita scale. scale said 8.5, calibers said 9.5.

I've been into body building for about 12 years. I still say that's lower than 15%.

8.5-9.5% it fluctuates. I had my BF% done with both the caliper method and the water tub method. I have a scale that uses the electric current method. After I did my tests I came home and took a reading on my scale and used that for a reference. BTW if you think you have 5% or less BF you are seriously delusional. Elite athletes BF ranges between 6 and 9%.

Nothing to brag about but here's mine (top number). 15.4%. I've still got a long way to go!!!

*this is with an Omron hand held unit. Granted not completely accurate but good enough for me to check my progress.

Are you saying that not lifting will help you reduce bodyfat?
