Schwalbe M+ tire is right width, but the second sidewall won't go behind the rim
My new Schwalbe Marathon Plus tire is 700 x25c like all my other tires. I'm putting it on.
The other sidewall is on, and the tube is inside. Usually, I can't get a tire's sidewall all the way over the rim. This time, I can't get the Schwalbe's sidewall to start going over the rim. When my hands are 50 degrees apart, I can push the tire sidewall over the rim, but the sidewall does not go behind the rim.
I've got to leave in 90 minutes.

This is the only way I can get mine on. https://www.biketoolsetc.com/index.cg...&item_id=KS-TJ
The tires are great for wear and flat resistance, but impossible to easily install.

Think about what you will do when you get a flat on the road if you can't manage to get it mounted at home. Now think about doing it with cold, wet hands. I won't ride a tire I can't easily fix at the side of the road.

I got it installed with the help of my brother and the help of that youtube video. I used zip ties.
I only have cheap tire levers. I'm about to order some better ones.
Well said.

The one thing I would do differently is the common habit of installing the 2nd bead starting at the valve stem. When one does it that way the valve stem and reinforcement at the base will prevent pushing the bead into the valley in the center of the rim where the radius is the smallest, and as a result when one is trying to finish mounting on the rim opposite from the stem there is not as much slac
I used to use that method but I have found that finishing near the valve stem is significantly easier. In fact, removal is eased by pushing the bead into the center starting opposite the stem and removing near the stem. I have been able to remove tires without levers by doing so.
