Garmin Edge 830 Topo Map - WTH?
When not on a designated route, I sometimes flip to the gradient/topo map and it gives me a green mound but no specifics as to the gradient ahead, just the current grade down below the image. Is that the way it is designed or is there a way to activate a more detailed view?
Plus there is no indicator where I am on the green blob.

The 830 does not have topo data built in. You need to be on a pre-made course in order to have the data.
