XC tyre recommendations
Appreciate recommendations for tyres on my XC bike, width 2.1”- 2.25”.Usage is ~60% tarmac with the rest on hardpack or rough gravel.
Despite predominant tarmac usage, I’m happy to compromise on rolling resistance a little for a bit of extra hardpack/gravel grip.
Puncture resistance is very important to me (e.g. always used Schwalbe Marathon Plus for commuting).
Any recommendations on tyres? Generally I’ve stuck to Continental or Schwalbe, but can’t decide amongst their models.

How much are you willing to compromise? I'm about to try a Continental Race King rear and Cross King front (black chili compound on both) for a bit more trail biased riding bike. I know nothing of their ride yet (it's on order) but it seems to be a popular choice from various places I've read...

Got Maxxis Ardents in 26x 2.25” for my restomod bike. Rides like a dream, so plush and is quite smooth rolling on tarmac.
my other GT is setup as a comfort bike so i use small block 8’s in 26x2.1’s...it has less vibration on the road and decent enough grip on the mild trails

I'm based towards the Conti offerings... but make sure you choose the right cssing for your terrain. I always tend to lean towards durability over weight savings. Nothing worse than a flat tonruin your flow.
