1988 Bicycling Reviews Tommasini, Tesch, Bianchi.....
I am busy trying to scan and upload to FB all my Bianchi catalogs and other cycling related information and I came across this. I of course saved mostly because of the Bianchi Proto but the other machines are equally capable and beautiful. Lets see as mentioned there is a Bianchi Proto MAX, Tommasini Diamante MS, De ROsa SLX, Tesch OTTL Prestige, Montagner (Oria) GM 0.0, and Havnoonian 653.
Personally I think the reviewer is a harsh in his assessment of the Proto.
I love this first paragraph about the Proto. Personally I never found it that harsh compared to the Cannondale I had at the same time. It is my understanding that the Nivachome steel the MAX tubeset is made from doesn't require lugs as it was designed to be filet brazed.
I love this version of the fork and I wonder why the production bikes never got it. The rich Pearlescent White finish must have a sight to see.

I love these old magazine scans as much for the ads as for the articles. Ads for accessories are nice because they explain the advantages of their product vs. the contemporary competition.

That's what I love too. I can almost picture reading the magazines in their own time in my mind, since as a kid, I read them, especially the buyers guides, until they no longer were intact.
