Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This is purely for backup since I carry CO2. I want one I can fit into my downtube along with the "roll" that holds tube, etc. and fits in there.

Will likely only carry it on a few organized rides I want to do this year that are farther from home than I normally ride since it will be harder to call a friend.

I may just give up on this wax nonsense and go back to drip. I don’t want to, but this is a major ass pain.

I’m chucking every Shimano quick link I have (bought them all from Bezos)and solely using the YBN links I picked up with a chain

Yeah, I haven't had any quick link issues, either, even after taking them on and off over the course of 5k miles each.

I can put out a hair more than 20w.

First race and no race-like group rides under your belt? Try to have fun and keep it rubber side down.

My pick would be...Base layer, jersey, arm warmers, shorts, knee warmers, and vest (maybe, depending on how i felt after warming up).

With that short a race, be sure you warm up completely, including a couple of short high-effort bursts. Whatever result you get, more than anything, it will be a learning experience. Good luck.

She'll do fine. The new strip is quite compact. No where really to go where there is open space. It's crammed between the coast and the highway, which is actually a very busy, very narrow two lane road. It didn't appear to be very busy with tourists this week. When is her shindig?
Edit: And now that I think about it a bit, the ATMs likely give dollars. And the businesses charge in dollars. Quintana Roo is very serious about not confusing the tourists. The state is on eastern time for that reason. The rest of the country is on central.

My luck with CO2 has been so bad that I gave up on it.

For a total topic change, it will be interesting to see what happens with NFL free agency and QBs. Much is made of Brady going to Tampa and immediately winning a SB being followed by Stafford doing the same with LA, but no one is mentioning that the trend was started by Peyton going to Denver. That was not the first year, of course, and he had declined much more physically, but that is still the first modern time a QB changed teams late in his career and won a SB. Now with two in a row, I do think it will continue to get more common, while it doesn't appear particularly likely this year with Rodgers and Wilson appearing to stay put, at least for now.

The only time I had trouble with CO2 is when the inflator blew apart during use. It seems that rattling around in my seatpack for several years wore down the swaged lip holding the thing together. Lucky I had the mini pump as a back up.

Mainly worrry about *******, murderers and cartels you hear about roaming free in Mexico. Otherwise, she’s pretty savvy, and has seen more of the world than I have.

There's talk that Deshaun Watson is interested in the Vikings. Goodness, I hope that that interest isn't mutual.

Brady got to pick his team - I don't know how much input Stafford had. Regardless, both of these veterans went to teams with rosters that were a QB away from serious contention. Given the salary cap, I don't think that that's a small feat, even if it has happened a few times in recent memory. It's a lot of money, a lot of salary cap manipulation, and probably involves trading a boatload of future draft picks. Maybe more teams will be willing to sellout their future for a legitimate shot at a title, but man would it suck to sellout for a one-year window and then fall short.

Both times I depended on CO2 to fix a flat, I ended up with two empty cannisters and still had a flat tire. Obviously, I was doing something wrong, but since I couldn't tell what, I decided not to bother.
