Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I've drunk in bars 'til sunrise in AZ, MT, WA, NY, NV, FL, and GA.

A few of those had the doors locked.

In OR I worked grave a while and we'd start drinking at 0700

there’s no good reason to be open after 12. Saratoga being open until 4 creates a **** show, especially during the meet.

Ca must have changed in the last 50 years. I remember bars being open at 0700. Maybe there is no limit on how early they can open. They have to close at two. Can they reopen at three?

That’s a tough one to kick. My wife has said, for many years, that she doesn’t want to be rich, for that reason alone. I am not quite so addictive as she, but I did dream about it recently. Stuck my powdered little finger in my nostrils and cleared them right up. Still clear upon awakening next morning.

I started riding with the fixie hooligans in college before getting a road bike and joining the collegiate team about a year later. But, for the past few years my only FG has been my actual track bike. Riding FG out in the open is too hard man! I hate having to mash low gears up climbs and manage them on the downhills. But I do have a soft spot for the aesthetic and the culture in general.

Here's a photo of my most recent, a Wabi Classic. Had it configured like a road bike and would do some longish endurance rides on it. But like I said, it's too damn hard lol.

California allows the sale of alcohol from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. for bars, nightclubs and restaurants. Those rules have been in place for more than 80 years. (From L.A. Times article about some cities trying to get closing time changed to 4 a.m.)

Graveyards have their own subculture, and I know I've mentioned bars catering to that shift, with happy hours at 9-10 am.

Drinking til sunrise... I certainly don't have the state count that you do, but I have closed and opened many bars in this town. Of course, having the secret knock in order to get in before they opened, never hurt either.

It's certainly going to be more expensive than painting it myself, but should last the lifetime of the frameset and best of all it will be a much nicer finish than I could likely achieve with a whole lot less work Might shoot a clearcoat over it after I put decals on, though. Finish is a semi-gloss and I might want it to be a bit shinier.

It's going to be this color:

Prolly never. One could always send a "friendly reminder" when one "replies back", asking the individual in question to stop using that empty phrase at their "earliest convenience". Confess I haven't yet worked up the nerve to do so, but have been tempted.

Good morning fellow Addiction-ers,

I hope this post finds you well. I thought I would reach out to let you know that I am on PFL today, so I will not be working on replying to any work related communications. Please be advised that I may rely on threads like this one to get my daily fill of empty phrases and superfluous words in other related communications. As such, my post count may be a bit higher than usual. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you wish to follow up on this conversation directly.

Very Best,
Tmonk

Why use a big word when a diminutive one will do?
