Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

AI ftw! I watched myself type mountain and AI determined I meant to type mouse. I can see why; makes so much more sense.

Yes. Pancake flat like everything else, but with rock strewn into the mix. And ruts. And more importantly, no traffic. Nobody seems to be in a hurry out there on the trails

I keep telling myself that once my fixed gear frame comes back from powdercoat and I get it built up that I should enter. They have a bunch of categories, including all the usual age groups plus a Merckx category. I wonder if they would create a special category for Merckx - Fixed Gear or just group me in with all the other non-aerobar folckx

yeah age-graded and Merckx seems to be common with clubs. Ours does have a FG category too, but not FG Merckx - guys run aerobars with extensions. We offer TTT as well.

For community events like these - I am in favor of more categories. More chance for everyday cyclists to get up on the box!

Wife allowed me to ride today, got home this morning. Really shouldn’t have ridden, I got 1.5 hours of sleep, and really slept pretty poor this whole trip, but the weather was too beautiful not too.

Apparently we went from winter to summer. 85 degrees today.

Was hanging out in the backyard just now with the kiddos and found 3 ticks on my clothes.

When he first made mine, he had to make small adjustments and several printings until we got one that fit in a manner that held the bike up securely. A lot of trial and error in it. Problem is that it takes about a full day to print one.

Disagree. XTC were one of the finest post-punk Brit-Pop bands/songwriting teams. Here's another example!

Give him my thanks, Actually now that I think of it. I’m an idiot. I tried it on the drive side real fast on my bikes that were hanging up. I bet it fits fine non drive side.

I never claimed to be smart.

Yeah, it's only supposed to work on non-drive side.

Usually, I say it’s my first time.

Once I had a really hard landing, and the number 1 flight attendant was telling the passengers I must not have been wearing my glasses.

I thought I slipped on both my Ultegra and 105 cranks to make sure it fit. Maybe not though.

I remember those days

print would sometimes continue through the night into the next day - and sometimes there would be an issue and it would need to be done again

my kid had his printer in our basement - and the temperature was not ideal or stable - so he added an enclosure which helped

of course there was still a lot of prototyping and trial and error
