front brake lever keeps bottoming out

Middle of last July, the left (front) hydraulic brake lever of my Kona slowly bottomed out. LBS said bleed. Month later, exact same thing happened. They said bleed again, but I said there has to be something going on, maybe a leak. So I said new brake assembly (caliper, lever, hose). Replaced the original Tektro with Shimano Deore. Now, starting to happen again! What can be the explaination?

Are you turning your bike upside down?
Have you replaced the pads?
Have you adjusted the lever throw?

If a bike has hydraulic brakes, I (almost) never turn it upside down.
The new brake assy came w/new pads.
I have not adjusted lever throw.

If the system is bled properly turning the bike upside won't matter. If there's no air in the system, there's no air in the system. Sounds like it's never been properly bled.

update, fwiw. Took it to a different (my usual shop is temporarily closed) shop- they made a simple reach adjustment, using a 2.5mm hex. Problem solved.
