I have ridden the bicycle a few hundred trouble-free miles since completely refurbishing it and now it's time to pass it on to the next owner! It rides wonderfully and feels reminiscent of large 531 straight gauge frames that I've had in the past, such as early Raleigh Super Course models. The 38mm tires are cushy and roll very smoothly over all kinds of pavement and I've had the bicycle up to over 30mph multiple times during stretches of flat sprinting. It's a fine machine. Everything shown in the photos in the original thread is included as well as the saddle bag shown in the photo below. Also included are the original, rough plastic fenders with a nice Munich bicycle license plate and a new set of Velo Orange hammered aluminum fenders that I purchased are replacements, but which will need some modification to the front to fit between the fork blades.
The seat tube measures almost exactly 62cm to from center-to-top and the top tube is an unusually short 56cm from center-to-center, but with the ~95mm Phillipe stem it works well for me like that, and in fact it's more comfortable to get my hands out over the brake hoods than on some of my other bikes.

My era is really racing bicycles from the 1980s and 90s but were I to diversify into the 70s and 60s similar questions would arise…

The idea of repatriating this bike to Germany when we move there this August is also very appealing. Alas, I can't afford it right now

A slight modification to the initial offer - the VO fenders are now included in the $800 price, but I am keeping the toe clips and straps. This is reflected in the edited text of the first post. Happy fourth of July!

It's a beautiful bike and unusual to come across a bike in my size from this era. Really well appointed too. Going to pass on this one for now. Bought three bikes this year and that's going to have to be it. Maybe next year? Good luck with the sale.

Rare frame geo (relatively short TT compared to frame size -- my preference), yet apparently plenty of room leg / fender clearance in the front. Wonder what the frame angles and the trail/fork rake are?
BTW, high BB is also preferable if the frame is used as a path bike (i.e. gravel bike by modern nomenclature).

Hello all,
Still very keen on moving this Express to an appreciative new owner, and I can eventually get around to details like the frame angles. The bicycle is in storage at my parents' place and I am taking off for an international trip tomorrow and will return on August 1.
