Anybody ever see or own a Felt MP cruiser bike? How are the Felt brand cruisers? I see Electra bikes everywhere but I don't like the looks of them, sorry. Felt has a big line of great looking Beach Cruisers but how are they??? Please comment on the Felt MP. Thanks.

I am sort of a grouchy old b'stard who thinks all the modern knock offs are cheesey simply because they are knock offs. That said, that bike is COOL! They really nailed the theme. The way the top tube becomes fat like a tank is elegantly done. The whole motorcycle front end with triple clamps is terrifically executed. The bobbed and accented fender tips. The MP font. Black spokes and green rims. It's so WWII. Hat's off.
There is only one thing I don't dig. The saddle upholstery is far too luxurious looking for that bike. Easily solved with an aged Brooks though.
I'm sorry I don't know anything about the mechanical quality, but the design/marketing department knows what the hell it is doing.

After looking at that I became curious, so I checked out their site. All of their themed cruisers are fantastic. The Britsh green one that is a Triumph 750cc "Twin" ripoff. The Mid 70s Bob Hannah Yamaha Moto Cross rip off with a larger front and smaller rear wheel. The turn of the century "Chief" Indian motorcycle rip off. The Red Baron is awesome with the Iron Cross sprockets and valve caps. So many details are attended to, and so properly. The Surf City Lifeguard in RED + WHITE and piping on the saddle. Really great looking bikes. And I really like the frames lines and angles. They flow well.
Edit: I realize now that I had looked at their 2009 catalog. Upon visiting the 2014 line up, I no likey. They changed the frame and it doesn't look good IMO compared to the OP.

I have a 2010 felt New belgium Brewery cruiser. Not light but very smooth. The quality was good, the ride was OK except the handle bars they put on the for 2010 was too low for the long top tube, the heavy basket up front did not help. I was looking at the MPs for a while, but something a little less militant in this town seemed like a good idea.
I also have a 2014 felt ransom done up NBB style, aluminum frame, 29er wheel set, and the ride is fantastic.

I just purchased an original this week and its being shipped to me. Cant wait. I have it posted in my profile pic. I have owned over 10 Electra's and still have two of them but am excited for this Felt. I too like the original model versus the new one available. Never ridden as this was a garage queen for a friend of mine.

Old thread bump. I have one of these..purchased new in '09 from Jocelyn's Bicycles in Monterey (now out of business). My pants ripped the chain guard off during a 30 mile bike party but other than that she has held up just fine. Still need to find a replacement guard.
Any more owners out there?

On some level they look cool, but IMHO it just kinda reinforces the "cruisers are joke bikes" thing.
I can't wait for the Mickey and Minnie series to come out.

Hey Guys,
Old thread but I've got one in my basement. I've owned it for about a year and only ridden it around the block once. It looks brand new and in my opinion, it's to nice to ride...
